“What would you like to do if money were no object?”

As children, we have exciting fantasies of what we want to be when we grow up. While some follow this path through, most of us land somewhere quite far from our young dreams. There are several factors that come into play when choosing our careers, with the issue of money at the forefront for many. We may not be able to completely ignore this necessity, however, when we make money our primary focus we are at risk of losing out on doing the things that truly make us happy. As Alan Watts puts it, "if you say that getting the money is the most important thing, you will spend your life completely wasting your time . You'll be doing things you don't like doing in order to keep on living, that is, to go on doing things you don't like doing". What would you do if money were no object?
